Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for homeowners, professionals, and anyone using MyHouseLedger.
Last updated: July 4, 2026
1. Who this applies to
These terms apply to anyone who creates an account, purchases a plan, or uses MyHouseLedger — homeowners, professionals (contractors, agents, and similar), and anyone accessing a shared or gifted House Ledger.
2. What MyHouseLedger is
MyHouseLedger is a private digital record for a home — maintenance history, warranties, documents, photos, and the professionals who’ve worked on it. It is not a marketplace, not property management software, and not a financial, legal, or insurance service. Nothing in your ledger constitutes professional advice.
3. Accounts and access
- You must provide an accurate email address and use it to sign in via a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure.
- Homeowner accounts are free. Professional accounts include free trial credits and paid subscription tiers.
- You may not share your account access in a way that circumvents paid plan limits, and you may not create multiple accounts to obtain additional free trial credits.
4. Payments, billing, and refunds
- Professional subscriptions (Starter, Pro, Unlimited) bill annually in advance. There is no monthly billing option.
- The one-time gift ledger purchase and the additional-property add-on are each billed as a $40 one-time payment at checkout.
- All purchases are final. We do not offer automatic or self-service refunds. If something isn’t right — a billing error, a technical problem, or you’re simply unhappy with your purchase — contact us at help@myhouseledger.com and we’ll work with you directly. Refunds, when granted, are handled case by case at our discretion, not as a matter of automatic entitlement.
- If a gift ledger you purchased and generated a link for is cancelled before the recipient claims it, the associated credit is returned to your account. Once a recipient has claimed a gifted ledger, it cannot be cancelled or reclaimed, because it is now their private record.
- Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not prorate or refund the unused portion of an annual term except at our discretion as described above.
5. Referral program
- Referral commissions, where offered, apply only to individuals we’ve specifically invited into the referral program and issued a code to. This is not an open, self-serve program.
- Commission rates, milestones, and terms are set individually with each referral partner and are not a standing public offer.
- We may require tax documentation (such as a Form W-9) before issuing any referral payout, and may be required to report payouts to tax authorities as applicable by law.
6. Your content
- You (or a professional acting with your account’s permission) own the content you add to your House Ledger — records, photos, documents, and notes.
- You can export a complete copy of your House Ledger at any time, regardless of subscription status.
- By adding content, you confirm you have the right to share it (for example, a professional adding photos of work they performed) and that it doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights.
- We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models or build advertising profiles, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
7. Professional conduct
Professionals using MyHouseLedger to gift or manage client ledgers agree to:
- Only create ledgers for real clients they have a genuine business relationship with, not for the purpose of generating fraudulent reviews, credits, or referral commissions.
- Provide accurate information when preloading a ledger before gifting it.
- Not use the platform to harass, spam, or misrepresent their business to homeowners.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including fraudulent gift-credit use, fake account creation, or abuse of the referral program.
8. Limitation of liability
MyHouseLedger is provided “as is.” While we take data security and reliability seriously, we cannot guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability where such limitation isn’t permitted by applicable law.
9. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll notify account holders by email before the changes take effect.
